Gracia can be classed as a bucolic area of the city and this venue lent itself to using cold materials given the generous amount of light flooding its structural interior. The raw renderings and metal applied to its refurbishing contrast with the sober furniture which provide the human dimensions required. Without bypassing the rather solemn and powerful idiosyncrasy of the walls, the sophistication of the design refines the spaces so as to soften yet maintain the stately character of the existing materials.
